Amber Campbell made her Olympic debut for the United States this summer in Beijing, where she competed in the women's hammer throw. After finishing third at U.S. Trials in 2004 and not making the team because she lacked the "A" qualifying standard, Campbell had no such shortcomings this time around. |

Unfortunately, Campbell finished 21st in the women's hammer throw competition for this year's Olympics. The top 12 finishers advanced to the finals. Campbell's first throw of 67.86 meters got her off to a good start, but Amber faulted on her final two throws. Campbell finished 9th overall in Pool B, with 12 throws from Pool A topping her mark. |
